Getting to Harbour Town from the Marriott Monarch at Sea Pines is about a 2.2-mile trek. Leaving the Resort, you will take a left on N Sea Pines Drive and turn right on Lighthouse Road. Follow the signs that will take you directly to Harbour Town. This ride should only take you about 15 minutes.
Pulling into Harbour Town, you first notice the large playground. If you have kids, they will want to stop and play for a while. It is a very enticing area for sure. Bikes will be parked beside the playground area. The beauty of the marina with boats of all sizes makes an incredible backdrop. Shopping is fun and multiple restaurants are located at the Harbour Town Marina. Of course, there is also a wonderful ice cream shop. Great to end your day with your favorite ice cream flavor.
South Beach Bike Ride
If you are up for a slightly longer bike ride, heading straight down N Sea Pines Drive will take you to the South Beach Marina. On the toe of the Island, South Beach is a very different vibe from Harbour Town. A very relaxed feel with a smaller marina is a great place to go if you are interested in water sports. This calmer location is perfect when you want to head out on a paddleboard or a kayak.
The trip to South Beach Marina is right at 2.8 miles, one-way, from the Marriott Monarch Resort. Although it is slightly longer than the Harbour Town ride, it will still only take about 15-20 minutes to get there.
You can’t go to South Beach without eating at the Salty Dog Cafe. Well, you could, but you would really be missing out on some great hushpuppies. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are all served at the Salty Dog. There are also many choices so it is worth going a few times to try all of the different options they have. Shopping is also fun at the South Beach Marina, which is right next to the Salty Dog. Get some memorabilia while you are there to look back on the fond memories you made while on Hilton Head Island.
