The largest of the outdoor pools even has a lazy river, kids splash pad, and zero-entry point. But this is just the beginning of the fun.
Bikes, Boats, Golf & Tennis
Hilton Head is one of the lushest and most beautiful places you could ever visit. Taking a bike ride around parts of the island is a great way to enjoy things at a slower pace. Bike rentals are available at the resort. Spending time with your family, reconnecting, and making memories is what it is all about and the recreation at the Bluewater Resort helps you in all of these areas. Play basketball on the sports court, and take in a round of miniature golf. Challenge your family to a fun game of shuffleboard or bocce ball near the marina. There is not a golf or tennis court on the resort grounds but there are plenty of places to play nearby.

There is no shortage of things to do at the Bluewater Resort but there are also fun things to do around the island. Rent a kayak from the marina or book a dolphin tour or fishing excursion at one of the many other large marinas on the island. Check out the fun at Shelter Cove with all of its shops and dining. Fun things to do
Beach Fun
It is important to understand that the Bluewater Resort in Hilton Head is on the Intercoastal waterway and not on the beach side of the island. While you are not in a place to walk to the beach, you can take your car to any of the public beaches available, and there are some really great public beaches on Hilton Head. The closest Public Beach would probably be the Folly Field Beach Park (5.5 miles) or Burkes Beach (5.6 miles). Both of these beaches are very nice and have plenty of parking. Another option, but will be a bit further of a drive, would be the Coligny Beach Park. Coligny is a wonderful option with parking across the street and the Coligny Plaza with great beach shopping and dining.
Golf
Is there any place better than Hilton Head Island to play golf? While there are many wonderful courses around the world, Hilton Head has some really amazing places to play. There are not any Golf Courses at the Bluewater Resort but there are many nearby.
The closest Public Courses would be Dolphin Head, Oyster Reef, and Bear Creek. All of these are in the Hilton Head Plantation. Head down to Port Royal and you can play on the Barony Course or Robber's Row.
Courses inside of plantations are available to anyone as long as you have a tee time confirmed. Many of the courses on Hilton Head are in gated communities. Let the guard at the gate know your name and tee time and they will let you through to play your round of golf.
You might also consider some of the courses off of the island in Bluffton as well.
Bocce Ball and Shuffleboard
Ready for a little competition? Get the family together or your friends and head down to the marina where you will find the Bocce Ball and Shuffleboard courts.
Basketball, Pickleball, Volleyball and Badminton
The multipurpose court, near the walkway that takes you down to the marina, allows for playing many different sports. Great for basketball fun, volleyball, pickleball, and even badminton.
Miniature Golf
Who doesn't love a game of putt-putt golf? A great family fun time is always spent on the mini-golf course. Great competition to be had but also the enjoyment of making special memories with your family. Grab your putter and head over to the mini-golf course located by the sports sourt.
Marina
You don't have to go anywhere but your own backyard at the Bluewater Resort in Hilton Head to get out on the water. Renting a 1 or 2-person kayak from the marina is an easy way to enjoy some time on the water exploring the area around you from a completely different perspective.
Ping Pong
Ping Pong is always fun and is great if the weather is bad. This indoor ping pong table invites you to play and get a game going with friends and family
