Chaplin Community Park Hilton Head
If you are looking for one of the largest, most diverse parks on the Island, you might consider a ride up to the Chaplin Community Park Hilton Head. Taking up the entire block between Singleton Beach Road and Burkes Beach Road, the Chaplin Community Park is a massive 111 acres in size. Visiting a park this close to the beach makes it very convenient to take a stroll to the beach once you are done with your time at the park. Take the walking/biking path to Burkes Beach and enjoy an amazing day on the Atlantic Ocean side of Hilton Head. The amenities are wonderful at this community park in Hilton Head:/p>

Chaplin Community Park Information:
Parking at Chaplin Community Park
Multiple parking areas are found around the Chaplin Community Park. Entering the park from Burkes Beach Road, turn right on Castnet Drive, and you will see your first set of parking spaces. These are great if your want to go to the open, multi-purpose field or the baseball diamond.
Continue on Castnet Drive, and another parking area is found to the right, after the baseball field. If you are taking your kids to the playground or your dog to Dog Park, this is the best parking lot for these activities. Across the street, where the tennis courts are, you will find another smaller parking lot with a few spaces. No matter where you park, walking, and biking trails connect all of the areas around Chaplin Community Park.
Walking Paths
Paths for walking or riding a bike weave throughout Chaplin Community Park, connecting visitors to all the amenities available. Start from the main parking lot when you enter the Park from Burkes Beach Road and walk along the path to the Dog Park.
You can also walk to the tennis and Basketball courts to play a match or join in on a basketball game already in progress. Be sure to take a walk along the paths to the beach and take in the amazing water and marsh areas between the park and the beach.
Soccer Fields and Baseball/Softball
Chaplin Community Park has a massive grassy area used for many sports activities, such as soccer games and practice areas. Besides this large field is a baseball diamond ready for play.
The fields are very large and a great place to run and play, fly a kite or just kick around a soccer ball. These fields might be filled with teams playing soccer or using them as a practice areas. You can check the event schedule posted and maintained by the Hilton Head Island Recreation Center at any time.
Basketball Courts
Do you want to shoot some hoops? Head over to the Basketball courts located beside the baseball field. Parking is available, close to the courts on the Singleton Beach Road side of the park.
Two (2) outdoor basketball courts are ready for play. Come out and get a game going or just practice your moves and shots.
Tennis Courts
If you enter the Chaplin Community Park from the Singleton Beach Road entrance, you will see parking for the tennis courts on your right. Six (6) courts are available for play.
The Tennis Courts are fun as well and are open for public play as long as they are not booked for an event. Be sure to check the schedule at the Hilton Head Island Recreation Center to see if the Tennis Courts are being used.
Playground
The large kid’s playground is beside the Basketball Courts and baseball diamond. This is a great place to take your smaller kids. They will have fun climbing on all of the playful structures and riding down the sliding boards.
This area is nice and shaded for the adults to sit by and watch as the kids have fun.
Picnic Tables and Pavilions
Take your food with you and enjoy a picnic at one of the many covered pavilions with picnic tables. Let the kids run and play in the fields (if they are available), or take a long walk along the walking paths and enjoy a night out together. What a great place to have time with the family and enjoy a meal together outside at a beautiful Hilton Head park location.
Restrooms at Chaplin Community Park
Stay as long as possible (during opening hours). Public Restrooms are available at 2 locations in Chaplin Community Park.
As you enter the Chaplin Community Park from Burkes Beach Road, bathrooms are located on your right, just before the long parking lot. Another bathroom area can be found at the parking near the Dog Park, Basketball Courts, Playground and Baseball Field.
Best Friends Dog Park
There is nothing better than letting your dog run free. At the Chaplin Community Best Friends Dog Park, you can do just that. This enclosed area is a wonderful meet-up spot for your pet to have fun running and playing with other pets in the area.
Be sure to clean up after your pet at all locations in the park. Dog pickup bags are provided at the dog park, along with trash receptacles. A list of regulations is posted at the dog park. Two areas are provided for your dogs to have a great time. One for the smaller dogs and a very large area for the bigger dogs to run and play. While the dogs are off playing, keep a close eye on them if other dogs are in the park. This is also a great way to meet other dog owners and build relationships.

Burkes Beach Access
Chaplin Community Park provides parking for anyone who wants to visit Burkes Beach. Burkes Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand and amazing Atlantic Ocean views. Known as a great public beach, guests can park for free at the Chaplin Community Park and walk along a path next to Burkes Beach Road to access the walking path that leads to the beach.
