Large Park with Great Views

Jarvis Creek Park has 53 acres to explore. In the center, and the focal point of the park is the 11-acre Lake Liggett. Benches are available around the lake on the 0.85-mile walking path to sit and enjoy the sights of the park, lake, and wildlife around you. Taking a walk around the lake allows you to have multiple vantage points of the lake and great spots for pictures to make memories of your visit.

Pick your quiet spot

With over 53 acres to roam, it is not difficult to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy your stay. Spread out a blanket and take a rest or enjoy a picnic by the lake. Be sure to keep some distance from the banks of the lake since there are alligators that roam Liggett Lake. One of our favorite spots to sit is on a bench on the other side of the lake. This quiet location gets you away from the activity at the picnic pavilions and the fishing dock and is a wonderful place to take in the nature around you.

Fishing at Jarvis Creek Park

Bring your fishing pole and bait and stand around the lake of the fishing pier. Ligget Lake is 11 acres stocked with Largemouth Bass and Blue Gill. One thing to note as you walk out on the pier is that this is a “Catch and Release” lake only. You are not allowed to keep what you catch.

Fun for the little ones

Run, climb and play on the playground at Jarvis Creek Park. Sand bottom walking area around the playground makes for a comfortable play space. Swings are available for the little ones. A large play place with steps and slides is fun for slightly older kids.

Picnic Pavilions

Multiple picnic pavilions are located around the lake and the park. Grills are also provided, so pick up some charcoal and make a day of staying at the park.

Restrooms

Talking about “making a day” at Jarvis Creek Park? Public restrooms are on site and make it much easier and more convenient to make a lengthy stay. Enjoy the walks, fishing, picnicking, and a fun family adventure at this “hidden gem” in Hilton Head.
