Marriott’s Surfwatch
Beautiful paths and raised walkways lead you around the pristine grounds of the Marriott’s Surfwatch in Hilton Head. Tall Oak Trees and Palms and amazing landscaping place you in a small section of Paradise while staying in one of the 2 or 3-bedroom villas at the Marriott Surfwatch Resort. Two outdoor pools are ready for your enjoyment, one overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and having a wooden walking path to the beach. An indoor pool is also available and is great when the weather is not the best. Bike rentals are an option, and with over 100 miles of bike trails in Hilton Head, this is the preferred method of getting around and learning about the Island.
2 & 3 Bedroom Villas
You will NOT be stuck in a tiny hotel room when you stay at the Marriott’s Surfwatch. All rooms are Villas with two (2) or three (3) bedroom options. Each of these villas comes with a full kitchen with all the pots, pans, dishes, and cookware for all your cooking needs. The main family space is broken up into a dining area and living space with an at-home feeling that will help you feel very comfortable during your visit. An added private laundry room with a washer and dryer is also a nice touch. Many of the Villas have a view of the lake in the middle of the property, but some have an Ocean view. If the Oceanview is important, be sure to request this when making your Reservation.

Cons:
- Distance to Beach: While the Surfwatch Resort is Oceanfront, some buildings are a longer walk to the sand. Having this extra distance might cause issues for some guests, especially those with young children or mobility issues.
- Lack of On-Site Dining Options: It might be surprising but there is only one dining option at the Surfwatch Resort, Sea Salts. Sea Salts is located by the pool and offers a limited bar-type menu. If you are looking for more options, you must ride your bike or take your car to other locations in Hilton Head.
- No Daily Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are not provided unless specifically requested. This is a typical setup for most guests renting a villa for a few days or longer, but some have complained about this needing to be included.
- Car Necessary for Convenience: The resort’s location requires other transportation, such as a bike or a car, to easily access nearby attractions, dining, and shopping, as nothing besides the beach is within walking distance.

Fun Things to Do at the Marriott SurfWatch
While the Marriott’s SurfWatch Resort might not be as large as some of the other Marriott Hilton Head Resorts, it still has many things to do. Walking through the courtyard, you will see shuffleboard, cornhole, horseshoes, and even a sand volleyball court for guests to enjoy.
Bikes are one of the best ways to get around Hilton Head, and the Bike rental shop is in the covered garage at the Marriott SurfWatch. Get a bike for the day or the week and start your adventure around the 100-plus miles of Bike trails that wrap around Hilton Head Island.
There are two outdoor pools for adults and larger kids and 2 shallow children’s pools to play in. An indoor heated pool is also an option to get out of the sun or bad weather.
