Adding to the fun, you can take a walk across the street, and behind the Coligny Beach Parking lot you will see the Lowcountry Celebration Park Hilton Head. Celebrating the beauty that surrounds Hilton Head Island, this park has something for all ages. The centerpiece is the playground ship with climbing and sliding fun inside. A favorite for all kids is the ropes inside to make your way across the boat to the other side. A walking path and fitness stations are also available for anyone wanting to exercise. What is there to do at the park?

A Pirate’s Playground Adventure: Lowcountry Celebration Park has an amazing adventure area for your kids. This playground is the most unique in Hilton Head and is built to represent an impressive playground ship. With climbing ropes and sliding fun, your children can head out on their own pirate adventure. Inside the boat, your kids will find climbing nets, adding to the excitement as they look around and make their way to the other side. This playground is so much fun; you can relax while watching your children play for hours on end. They might even make a few new friends along the way.

Fitness and Fun: For the adults, there is more to this park than first meets the eye. Lowcountry Celebration Park features a beautiful walking path that spans the entire park. Walking along this path, you will find fitness stations to get a good workout while enjoying the incredible scenery. We took a nice leisurely stroll to see the different sections of the park and found many people jogging and working out to get their daily exercise. Adding to the fun, you can enjoy a game of frisbee golf or try out the outdoor chess set. The large open field area is great for running around and making some great family memories.

Amenities and Activities:

  • Wide Path to Beach: Coligny Beach Park is next to the Lowcountry Celebration Park. Take a stroll to the beach along the wide scenic walkway. Once at the beach, you will want to kick off your sandals and stroll barefoot in the soft, warm sand.
  • Free Parking: A large parking area is conveniently located at the park entrance. This parking lot is available to all guests at Hilton Head. It gives you easy access to Lowcountry Celebration Park, Coligny Beach Park, and Coligy Plaza. Focus on fun, and don’t worry about parking fees.
  • Public Restrooms: Clean and accessible, open from 6 am until 10 pm daily for your convenience. Stay at the park all day or for a few hours.
  • Perimeter Walk: A half-mile path that makes its way around the entire park. It is a great place to start or end your day with a relaxing morning or evening walk.
  • Bike Stations: Ride your bike to the park. Plenty of racks for your bicycles make it easy to explore the park on two wheels.
  • Children’s Museum: So much for your kids to explore. The Children’s Museum offers educational fun for the young and curious.
  • Open Space with Pavilion and Lawn: Perfect for picnics, events, or simply lounging on a sunny day. Take a Frisbee, balls or any outside activity and enjoy this huge lawn area with your family.

Where is Lowcountry Celebration Park Located?

As you drive down Pope Avenue toward Coligny Beach Park, turn right onto Nassau Street. Parking is located on the left as soon as you turn onto Nassau Street. From here, you can enjoy all of the amenities of the park. If you get hungry, head over to Coligny Plaza for a bite to eat from the many restaurants.

Riding a Bike to the Lowcountry Celebration Park

If you are staying in any of the Gated Communities Hilton Head or in the Forest Beach area, a bike ride is a fun excursion to the Lowcountry Celebration Park. Once at the park, bike racks are available to lock your bikes but if they are all taken, you can also park anywhere on the outer edge of the park.

Playground Area

Climb aboard the mighty ship of Captain William Hilton when he discovered the island of Hilton Head. This fun ship adventure is great for the kids with many areas to climb, slide, and there is even a wading pool to keep the little ones cooled off in the South Carolina heat.

Walking Along the Perimeter

A great place to get some exercise, the Lowcountry Celebration Park has a .5-mile perimeter walking path. Off of the main path that circles the entire park, other paths break off to the playground area, and pavilion with large event space. This path is dimly lighted in the evening making it a special place to take a walk after the sun goes down. If a full workout is what you are looking for, keep your eyes open for the two fitness stations along the way.

Family Friendly Fun

Lowcountry Celebration Park is not only great for the kids, it is a wonderful place to spend time for the whole family. Sure, there is a fun playground for the little ones, but the green space is also great to throw a frisbee or play other outdoor games (when an event is not going on). The walking path is great for everyone as well. If you want to get some shopping or dining in, the Coligny Plaza is just across the street. And, don’t forget, Coligny Beach Park is a short walk away.
