Bristol Sports Arena Hilton Head

The Bristol Sports Arena on Hilton Head Island can be found just after crossing the bridge of the Cross-Island Parkway, off of Arrow Road. It’s a unique park different from others on the island.

The first time we visited the Bristol Sports Arena, we were perplexed when we entered the parking lot. It’s impossible to miss the walled structure with chain-link fencing surrounding a light blue arena, resembling a large hockey rink, but without ice. This unique enclosed skate arena is primarily used for Skate Hockey but also has Basketball hoops for when Hockey is not active. It’s a great place for both seasoned skaters and those looking for a fun day out. There is also an amazing Skate park for the kids to show off their tricks. Bikes are not allowed in the Skate Park.

Check the schedule for the next Skate Hockey match and enjoy the excitement of Hockey without being in the cold and sitting on the ice.

This space is a hidden gem. The enclosed area is set up for skate hockey and basketball, complete with small bleachers where you can kick back and watch the action. We had a blast playing a casual game of basketball and then catching some skate hockey action.

Bristol Sports Arena doesn’t skimp on amenities. The restrooms are clean and conveniently located in between the Skate Park and the Hockey Rink. There’s plenty of parking, so no need to worry about finding a spot. The small bleachers in the enclosed area are perfect for friends and family to cheer on the teams while they play.

HOW DID THE PARK GET ITS NAME?

Check this out: The Bristol Sports Arena was named after the Bristol Family, who generously donated the funds for the roller hockey rink. Their contribution has transformed this park into a local gathering spot where families can get together and enjoy the sport of skating on multiple levels. While we were at the park we saw kids working on their sport and families having a good time together. The Bristol Sports Arena in Hilton Head is a vibrant place where the local community and visitors can gather and do something very different from Hilton Head’s typical focus on golf and tennis.
