Green Shell Park Hilton Head

Tucked away, off of Squire Pope Road, Green Shell Park Hilton Head could be a perfect spot to get away from the beach for a little while. Green Shell Community Park is great for a nice walk, taking the kids to a quiet spot to play on a playground. Grills are set up for public use and are amazing for a special date or just a time for a family picnic. Where is Green Shell Park Located?

As you cross over to Hilton Head Islan, you will pass The Crazy Crab restaurant on your right and take the next road on your left. Once on Squire Pope Road, you will drive about 0.3 miles to Green Shell Park on your left. A sign for “Green Shell Park” marks the location of your driving entrance. As you drive down the tree-covered road, you will notice a few, free parking spaces on your right and a few more down on your left. Pick a spot, park, and enjoy your time at this fun, out-of-the-way park in Hilton Head.

Riding a Bike to Green Shell Park

Bike Riding is the best way to see Hilton Head. Depending on where you are staying, a bike ride might be a fun way to travel to Green Shell Park. It is important to know that this bike ride would be pretty long from the Sea Pines, Shipyard, and Palmetto Dunes Plantations but, if you are up for an adventure, there are bike paths to get you there. Most people who visit by bike are staying more on the heel side of the island. Once you get to Green Shell Park, bike parking areas are available where you can chain and lock your bike for your stay.

Everywhere you go in Hilton Head is beautiful and the Green Shell Park has a unique feature. Take the wooden ramp up to the Observation Desk and take in the views of Skull Creek and Pickney Island National Wildlife Refuge in the distance. A great place to take some pictures and share them with your friends and family.

Take your time and look around at the park. Spend some time with your kids at the playground. Grill up a wonderful lunch or dinner. No need to be in a hurry as Public Restrooms are available at Green Shell Park for your convenience.

History at Green Shell Park

Be sure to read about the history that surrounds Green Shell Park off of Squire Pope Road. You will find nearby the Stoney Amelia White Cemetary and also an archaeological site with an authentic Native American shell ring.

Wildlife

One of the best places to find wildlife at the Green Shell Park is from the wooden observation deck.
